Tidy 90's ZXR250c or CBR250rr wanted near Welly

Hey, I'm looking for a "learners" bike at the moment. Maximum budget of 5k but would need to be in mint contition for that price. If you're looking to sell get back to me ASAP, I'm looking to buy a bike by the middle of next week.

    Cheers

Get a cibby you wont regret it! but if your saying you want to get a mint zxr/cbr for 5k that might be a bit tough, cause they are they best 250's on the market (if you dont wanna go 2-stroke) there is a demand for them. Though I did get mine for 5k so with a bit of luck you might find one!!

These are the only bikes I found in welly, unless you feel like getting it shipped. I got mine shipped up from chch so its not a big deal

I rode that cbr today. Went real well but had slightly damaged fairings and a couple of small scrapes so I'm not sure, if I can't find a better option by the middle of next week I'll probably buy it.

I can't get in touch with the guy who has the zxr on trademe. Left a question a few days ago and left a message on his cellphone and haven't heard back from him.

They are all a bit overpriced but they don't seem to lose value very quickly so you can almost trade for a bigger bike when you get your full without forking out too much cash.

Has anyone bought a bike from TSS before? What did you think of them, anyone been sold a dud etc?

Stew would NEVER stiff you mate. He is a diamond in the rough and I am posititve that if he sold you a dud he'd sort it out. There are very few dealers around like him.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

    AVOID!!!

Seen their CBR there. $5500 for a crappy condition bike with high k's. Keep looking. Almost all CBRs go for $5500 at dealers no matter what condition. In Palmy North they have a CBR for $5500 with 80,000k's!!! Then only 10 months ago, I got my CBR for the same price, pristine condition, good service history and 18,000k's. Just keep looking untill you find a good deal

Also, almost all ZXRs go for $6000 no matter what condition. Just keep looking if you want one of them. Don't buy the first thing you see

    ***Update***

There are no quality ZXR's or CBR's in Wellington! I am flying to Christchurch on Thursday to get a bike from Motorcycle Imports Direct then gonna ride back to Welly with a stopover in Nelson.

Their bikes look very competitively priced and after riding a CBR on the weekend I am leaning more in that direction. Can't go past the gear driven cam for lower maintenance I reckon. I still plan to ride a 250C (I've only riden the A model) and the CBR back-to-back and make up my mind based on that.

Can't wait, should be a mint ride up the east coast

Has anyone bought from MID before, opinion???

I Agree, TSS were all good to me, sorted me out with some decent gear for a decent price and were pretty helpful. It just wasn't the bike for me. I reckon I'll go back for servicing etc.

Make sure you post us a pic when you get the new wheels. I got a mate looking for a 250 at the mo. He's looking 5,000 max too.

I ended up having to go just over my budget but not by very much. The bike goes incredibly well for a 250, real tight in the corners and pretty good acceleration at low speeds. Clock says 8000 k's but who knows, it is pretty spotless so it could be true. Had no problems at all coming back from chch and was really comfortable even being about 6ft. The only pics I have so far are from the dealer.
