    "Stuff" website keeps crashing Chrome?

I downloaded Firefox because IE was giving me grief......then Firefox started giving me grief so I changed to Chrome. Now Chrome is giving me grief but only when I go to the "Stuff" website. By grief, I mean that the page starts to load, it wont load right up, then all links become inactive. I cant even scroll up and down with the side bar. I get a message up saying the the Stuff page has failed, do I want to kill it or wait. Either option is crap. I close the tab and find that all other tabs have picked up the same issue, cant scroll etc. I kill Chrome, have to wait about 30 seconds, fire up Chrome and all is good again..........frustrating as hell. Common factor in all the browsers giving problems, is the automatic Windows upgrades, you know the ones, when you are in a rush to leave the office and you go to shut down and a message comes up saying, Uploading 1 of 18 updates, do not power off or unplug your computer.

    So come on.....help me......please

Get adblockplus. Stupid bandwidth heavy flash type adverts have a habit of jamming things up when the ad server is busy.

stuff is shit. do you really care that much?

    download opera FTW.
uninstall chrome anf FF completely, and probably IE, too, then run reg cleaner over it.
    then install opera FTW.

my biggest problem with chrome is that it starts a new process for each tab, which seems fucking stupid to me.

also, never EVER update windows, it just takes up more space and replaces the last lot of bugs ("updates") with new ones.

if you really REALLY wanted to solve your problem, backup your files, write your drive to zeros and do a clean install. preferably with linux, butif you insist on winblows, make it 2kpro, server 2k3, XP pro or 7 pro ultimate uber whatever the hell they call it.

its a company laptop that I am using so the IT company we use frown on making those kind of changes. I was really hoping that it might just need and uninstall of some plugin update or something

or disable ipv6, which shits all over google and stuff. but since most of the ads come from google adplus server anyway.. who gives a shit? boycott it and use ixquick or bing or yahoo or something. much less tracking cookies.

plus. google is umbrella corp. and will cause zombies that will kill us all. the only good thing about this is millo jovovich.

    no chance.
i'd still at minimum suggest uninstall, reg sweep and reinstall a browser,
other option would be take it back to the IT god (with beer) and tell him you can't get the porn sites
    //err, stuff.co.nz,
and tell him to sort it.

You can't stop tracking cookies without disturbing your web experience; supercookies are pretty commonplace now. A new process for each tab stops one dying and taking all of your sessions with it, the same reason most people in the know who're forced to use Windows Explorer set it to one process per window.

opera's got this cool gig going on, called "sessions" auto saves your tabs in case of program crash (doesn't happen often) or power-out, or windows crash (happens more often) you can also save your own, so, fer instance, all the forums you troll can open automatically when you launch. or all the porn...

also way more efficient in terms of memory usage.

That's a good idea, and the OP should also uninstall any AV software and disable the firewall, too. Then start downloading a whole lot of random keygens and start visiting dodgy porn sites and clicking on every link and ad in those porn sites. It's also prudent to open as many email attachments from random senders as possible. Doing all that will ensure optimum lulz and a smooth running system.

You worry too much... I've no problem letting my CPU and net connection out to a bot army in exchange for free stuff
