What's your most dramatic/powerful movie scene?
Just finished watching Crash on DVD. I saw it at the movies first. For me it was one of the most powerful movies I've seen in term of dramatic impact. Not that I'm trying to go all soft cock and girlie but it's good to enjoy a tear jerker or thought provoking movie once in a while. Sure we all have our pick of great action scenes, sex scenes (but try and remember any?)
But some movies touch a nerve. Anyway the scene in Crash where the little girl runs out to protect her Daddy, the locksmith, from getting shot stops me in my tracks. For that scene alone it deserved the best flick Oscar. A few teary eyes in the threatre at that time. Beautifully filmed with just the right pace, music and actors to match.
Another memorable scene for emotional impact would have been in 'One flew overs the cuckoos nest'. The ending where the big Indian (Chief) rips out the drinking fountain and smashes out of the Asylum. Another recent one was the final speed run in The World's fastest Indian (shit, American Indians again, what are the odds of that?) Edge of your seats stuff, know what I mean.
Then there's Saving Private Ryan....
So what's done it for you?
