I'm pissed off with Microsoft now. I occasionally get messages saying that my computer performance is low and it changes from my aero theme to Windows 7 basic. Well, no shit my computer performance is low when I'm stressing the fuck out of my video card playing BF3.

I've been getting that one too, the 'dont show this again' option isn't too effective the first few times, but seems to have gone away now. Not that my system is too stressed anyway, maybe it was just right on the limit for a while...

After some Googling, it appears that there's no easy way to stop it from happening in future. I'm even more pissed off that I binned a jet in BF3 and died because of that shit and I couldn't respawn near another one.

Yeah, but then it doesn't look as cool. Windows Aero is pretty damn awesome, and if the problem persists then I will change it to basic.

I found a very young stray kitten, took it to SPCA Feilding trying to do the right thing ... they DEMANDED a $10 'donation' to take it off my hands .... "No $10 and no take kitten" .... thats a FEE not a donation, so since that episode I (formally always willing to give to them) have never donated a cent to them since.
And St John !!!! (bearing in mind I spent several years as a Volly ambo with them) I now consider as a business not a charity ..... if you collapse up the street for example, someone calls an ambulance .... they (in Waikato) bill you $80 for the short ride, if not payed when they think it should be ... they slap you into Bay Collection....... THEN have the Audacity to advertise "we are a charity and rely on the community support" aaahhhmmmmmmm dumb move ........ I challenged St John one day on their billing and the lady said {Quote} "We are not a charity you know" aaahhhmmmmmm maybe they should tell the authorities that LMAO

there'll be a registry hack in there somewhere. in XP it was under the "computer management" - services or msconfig.

SPCA i can understand, i don't agree with their corporate policy of not killing unwanted cats (and dogs, and our local one now has a f*ing guinea pig pen!?!). i find cats now and then, fuck SPCA, i shoot them.

St John is only partly user-pays, because they get 0 (zero) funding from the government, kinda like the fire service. the only 111 "service" that's paid for by tax $ is the cops, and AFAIK, they don't actually help anyone. ever, and probably collect as much $$ as they cost, so.. lose-lose for citizens.
80$ to cover you if you're bleeding to death on the roadside is pretty good value, really.

plus if you're st john member you dont pay, or, get 3 free callouts a year or something.

wellington has a free ambulance service, paid for by council (rates) at public insistence.
