It's a reasonable suggestion - Cats will wipe out a lot of our native birds ... New Zealand as a cat-free zone is worth discussing ... they are just another introduced pest that thrives here ...

Nope - being actually in charge means that you have to deal with a whole lot of business as usual shit which wears you down. He just wants to sit back and snipe at issues without actually taking the responsibility for fixing it or taking the risk to his ego in standing for parliament.

Its a fair enough stance as he can focus on issues BUT it does not actually achieve much...

Cue mad cat people forming a posse on the outskirts....

Haha, the cat that used to live here was affectionately named slug. He was not a threat to the wildlife.

At least he is making those calls from the sideline, and not as the head of SPCA or some shit.

Maybe he would have a leg to stand on if the place was rat, possum, and stoat free, but until those are gone, removing cats isn't going to do shit for wildlife anyway. Need some geneticists to bring back the Haast's Eagle, level the playing feild a bit...

Shit yeah. thats a way cooler thing to do than reintroduce the Neanderthal. I mean, as so many have pointed out, its not that big of a deal as there are heaps of them around already.

And there might be a few less if the Haast came back

Bob Kerridge from the SPCA reckons "very few native birds fall at the hand (should be paw, lol) of cats, domestic cats".

Killing a few of the introduced species of birds would be very good though.

Gareth Morgan is a fucking retarded piece of shit if he thinks that wiping out domestic cats is going to achieve a "clean, green image". He deserves a good smack in the head for his stupidity alone. Does anyone here know where he lives?

Bob Kerridge is wrong - and he's another one of those introduced pests that thrive in New Zealand ...

That cunt is a very special waste of skin. The list of people who I'd leave to die at a motorcycle accident scene is very small indeed, but he's right on up there.
