    Group riding and eating places

May not be in the right forum here but oh well.

This is my view and mine alone.

Im posting this as my wife who works in a small town shop part time gets abbused quite often when big groups of people arrive out of the blue and expect enough pies (for example) hot in the warmer for everyone there.

These shops are not telepathic and dont know your coming in a big group so please be a bit understanding.

Its not only bikers that get snooty but it did happen on the weekend with bikers.

    Cheers.

What the problem? Is it that the pie warmer isn't big enough for the weekend trade?

Just make sure you have enough cinnamon lattes and green tea for when the harley boys drop in...

I reckon they are the problem, by the time they arrive all the hot pies have gone and being a bit uppity they get shitty about it instead of just having a cheese roll.

I see examples of this all the time.
Like a group of 15 rocking up to the restaurant at 8pm on a Saturday & showing amazement that we do not have space for them, often quickly followed by a tirade at how badly organized we are.

Sheep. Fuck em. People who expect the world to work just the way they want deserve to be let down.

I wasn't going to post anything but what the hell. I'm not getting at you or your wife KC though and only trying to help.

You wrote your wife gets abused often etc, this implies she gets people coming through often but not on a strict timetable. A pattern appears to be emerging here. Please clarify.

Totally agree. Work in a Hotel and group books 120 people in to stay - asked what they are doing for dinner and organiser says own arrangements most will go out into town. They all arrive and 90 want to eat at the same time - no booking - no nothing and its our fault. jeez sheep!!!

I'm was raised to eat what I was given and shut the hell up. Given that, I'll happily eat a pie that's been nuked (yeah they're shite, but when the hole needs to be filled...)

Perhaps they should invest in a couple of cheap microwaves and offer these groups the option (microwave pie and a drink or starve). If it happens often enough to warrant a rant on here, then perhaps such a small investment would pay for itself?

Regardless... if I were in the hospitality trade, I'd be looking to profit from such a situation in any way possible... charge them extra for those tomato sauce sachets, have easy to prepare non-perishable items at the ready. Be fucked if I'd let a few hundred bucks walk out the door without a fight.

The shop has got two nuk machines and they do offer to heat a pie up but get another snotty abusive answer.
Theres other snack food in the shop but they want a pie or bust.

If the shop knows theres a bike rally or other event in the area they will often put more pies in the warmer to be ready but they cant afford to put 40 pies in the warmer and then get no one buy them and lose money throwingthem out.

I put this post up more about the abuse my wife gets from people for trying to do a job in a store were she could sell 100 pies 1 day and 4 the next foe example.

Im sure you wouldnt like me abusing your wife for something she couldnt help at her work?.

An example was she had a heap of bikers turn up last weekend unanounced expecting pies and while most were ok about waiting some were downwright wankers--so should she just stand there and take abuse all the time.

Not sure what kind of pattern you see but she could sell 100 pies one day and 4 the next and if theres a rally or organised event local they do put more in for that day but its the unananounced groups that are the problem.

As i've said i put this up to let people know that people like my wife are doing a job and dont need to be abused just because things arn't exactly as they want

Plenty big enough mate its knowing how many to put in it each day without wastage at the end of that day is the problem.
