Sir Paul who? Knighthoods.

Does Paul Holmes deserve a knighthood? Does anyone in this day and age?

Personally I think these 'honours' are a left over relic from another time. A payback for old mates?

The titles given to the nz honours that labour bought in were given such gooble de gook names that they meant nothing to me.

Was it for "Services to Broadcasting" ... or "Services to Yachting" .... ??

Oh I dunno, he was at the top of the game for a long time. Anyone who excels in their chosen path within reason should be recognised. Oh and celebrity seems to help but it shouldn't.

When I lived south of the Bombays we used to call him 'The Dwarf from the Norf'

I used to listen to him on the radio in my truck at 6 in the morning then see him on the telly when I got home at 7 in the evening. So at least he's put in the hours, unlike some. Got to respect him for that.
