America is potentially changing tack.
China could have enough resreves to be self-sufficient, but will not go down that path.

Let's just think about the possibilty of getting a good deal on oil/petrol at the moment. The fracking method of extraction is too controversial and destructive anyway.

Oh the oil wasn't what prompted me to suggest the idea, I've thought that NZ and Aus should team up for a while now.
