Good looking table... I'm sure you'd get more than $100 ... maybe more like $250 to 'right' person.

Just a suggestion... maybe drill a hole in the centre for an umbrella...

Dunno if it would support the weight of an umbrella, it is only 700 wide at the top and the legs are only 450 apart.

I reckon it would probably fetch 2-300.. but I would suggest running it as an auction with 150 reserve.. and then what ever it goes for, add 50 and there's a starting figure for a buy now..

make you you advertise it has "recycled timber garden table" - might get a few more interested..

Dunno about 2-300, but kitset pine cape cod chairs are about $150 so I reckon that's a good place you've picked for the reserve.

well.. I figured you never know... but 150 seemed a good start

being "recycled" might attract a buyer with some extra disposable cash.. if you know what I mean ...

I was selling dog kennels made from oak wine barrels, sanded, oiled, proper base for the barrel to lie on. A lot of work went into cutting & finishing, more than I anticipated. Any hoo. I had no bites on trade me just lots of views but I managed to sell 5 out of a shop for an average of $200.
I got the impression that actually being able to see & touch stuff like this goes a long way to selling it.
Figure out the least you will sell it for, $100 - $150 maybe, not sure what price you put on your time & go from their. My thoughts on trade me are freight is prohibitive & their is an element of "I could do that" even if they would never get around to it which inhibits the price. If you can find somewhere to display it I think you would get a better price from a spur of the moment buyer, local garden centre perhaps? That is what happened with the kennels.

I made this one to go next to my hammock, so I can grab my glass of gingerbeer and cone more easily. Just thinking of a few ways to generate a bit of extra cash, seeing as I am now unemployed.

Using an unskilled charge out rate of $60 per hour Your reserve price should be greater than $182. I'd list it at a starting bid of $180 and a buy now price of $240.

That charge out rate not only covers the 3 hrs labour, but the wear and tear on tools, power, overheads etc. Any price less than this and there would be no profit in it for you at all.

Have you made a wee stand for your cone too? So the ice cream does not dribble all over the table.

If its just a little side earner, start putting them up on trademe and see what they go for, will let you know what the market will pay.

The pay part is pretty important, a lot of broader market surveys fail to address the fact that if you are not surveying the correct market, the prices you get are what people think other people might pay, not what the people would pay themselves. If you want to get into it a bit more, you'd be best off to identify the specific target market demographics, and survey them not only about what they would pay for that, but more importantly, what else they want and would pay for.

Good point re the shipping as well. It's not a tiny object and probably reasonably heavy...

Do you live on a main road (ok ok, I know Gore doesn't really have one) but if people were able to touch and see as mentioned, even drive by, I'm sure there will be plenty of women ordering their guys to stop, so they could have a look
