Idea for a walk with Dave Moss

Ok came up with an idea last night,

Was talking with Dave about Manfield and he said why not go for a walk, I said what now out side, no at track dummy, oh right, so the idea was made.

Looking at walking the track with questions and answers as we walk around it. Here Dave can/will talk about reference points on track, track surface conditions, lines and speed, brake and throttle timing would be some of the main points, plus any questions you would like to bring along with you.

Looking at a even event for this so start time of 5-6pm ish for a couple of hours at say $20 per head, how many of you track day riders and racers would be interested in this??

Post up here and I will try to make it happen.

    track walk

I took quite a bit of time today at lunch time to walk Manfield and make some simple observations to Sam on track positioning, on track reference points, trail braking area, sections of the track for an open line for vision versus a tight line for defensive positioning and visual markers in the far distance to use when in 3rd to 5th gear to line the bike up correctly approaching the corner.

The light was flat with light rain and high winds, but the water on the track and slight changes in colour tones in braking areas along with subtle pooling or flowing of the rain water added considerable contrast to all areas of the track to give a much better understanding of how to use camber and where to take the most advantage of it.

I'm glad I walked the track prior to the track day as it gives me a much better understanding of the flow of the track as well as lines/choices into several corners especially the Esses. That in turn will really help me with suspension and chassis tuning knowing what is critical and where on track by turns.

It's a great track to attack and a bear of a track to ride defensively and maintain position and momentum!

After the Taupo track walk and seminar going so well Dave and I are looking at holding the same thing here in Manfeild this weekend.
Most likely to be after the MotoTT track day but can do Vic club as well if interest is high enough.

We could look at either option here, seminar and track walk, or just track walk with Dave.

You can just rock up on the day and book or book here with me, so come along and listen the a guru who is welling to share the knowledge of suspension settings, maintenance of suspension this does not leaving you thinking you need to spend heaps of money on suspension unless that is your budget. Then walk the track and listen/learn some tricks on how best to ride the track and were not to be on the track.
