Try as I might, I have no choice but to agree with you on the Ferrari.

for all the people who aren't visual learners: it's a 3.3lt hex carb v12 making about 260 bhp. it was the last race car to use spoke wheels, because, with the pirelli tyres made specifically for it, it kept snapping drive shafts and delaminating tyres. i think there were about 12 made. it's sex on four wheels.

for anyone interested in a neat video, check out claude lelouche's "275gtb doing 150mph through paris"

i quite enjoy it. doesn't have poke to speak of, but once it's rolling at 160 it'll hold it, and the road, with dirty 9" tyres on the rear.
i want a multiplate and lightweight gearbox for it.
    and an RB30.
    supercharged.

    ...with six R&H carbs.

I always wanted to have a Ferrari too, until I drove a Dino. I was sure my spine was gonna snap. Nice power though. That 275 does look cool though.

I would think that owning exotic cars would be disappointing, unless you had the $$ to treat them as normal cars. I had a mate who had a 90s ferrari of some sort. It only came out very occasionally, still cost a fortune for annual maintainence and still could be tempermental. Owning it-nice, but owning and using it as the maker intended-a lot nicer imho.

One reason for the popularity of the MX5. How many exotics can get to 19 years old and 185,000km with only regular servicing, no major repairs and can still be thrashed at the redline in total confidence? Sure the exotics go fast, but as you point out, most are only suitable for special occasions. Unless you can afford a Porsche, of course...

I hate to be one of "those cunts" but the Dino was never badged a Fezza.

True, not a real one as it was only the 308. But it impressed the girlfriend at the time.

Ah I assumed you were talking about a 246 or that one that nobody mentions with the FIAT badge... as you were.

I love Fezzas, I think they're a bit like Ducati though, use the term passion to make up for building shit vehicles.

Nah, no bites yet. About 100 views on TM so far, but I'm not that keen to sell, so no probs. I won't be giving it away...

The Harley's are always cruising through Orewa, can hear them go through Grand Drive every weekend.

I think I'll stick to playing in the wife's peugeot 306 convertible, about the same hp, drives as well as a flexing convertible body can, still usable with 4 seats, fully automatic soft top that puts its self away at the press of a button.
Not to mention that it's the same age as ed's car, with less than half the k's, and cost me a smidge more than 1/4 of what he's asking.
