The bike was put back together last night, but now it's making another noiseTake a listen, sounds terrible. Any ideas as to what could this be?

nothing internal... just had the carbs off and got them cleaned. Just put them back on with the airbox and fired it up, at first just the exup was ticking, then when i can back from a 2min ride, it started making that noise.
Its coming from the lower end of the engine near the front...

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
That sounds deeply mechanical ...My GUESS is exhaust cam , stuck lifter ?? take it to a dealer ..by trailer ,,,
Did the sound start suddenly or start to get louder and louder??
Its a little difficult via the internet ,,but the sound ,,sounder lighter ,,ie top endish ,,and as you said front ,,,that would be my Guess??

There was no sound at first, gareth went for a ride and when he came back it was rather loud. I took the bike for a spin around the block this morning and when I got back the noise had started. I'm dare not start it again.Originally Posted by Brian d'marge

Does the noise start as soon as you start the bike ,,or does it begin quiet ,,,then get noisy ??( blocked oil filter , low oil pressure/flow caused/ing a stuck/damaged cam /lifter??Originally Posted by Magua
What I am positivly hoping is that its just a stuck bucket or a cam chain that has Jumped a tooth ...does it start easily?? , If you can pin point the noise ( top/bottom ..sort of the middle somewhere?)
anyway at the end of the day .,...It aint going anywhere ...You can remove the rocker cover start the bike and listen/check timing marks ...if its not that ...its expensive ...ie bottom end engine out Job ( sorry )
best i can do from here ,,,sorry bout that ,,,

Hard to Hear but check your exhuast isn't leaking at the manifolds.
Sounds like an exhaust manifold leak to me.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
You mean where the headers connect? The noise is definately coming from the bottom of the engine and it starts as soon as the bike is started. I think I'm going to have to trailer it to a bike shop.Originally Posted by HCW

Well I went into Cyclespot and they seem to think it's just the exup or a baffle loose in the exhaust. So good news!
