Textile jacket with removable waterproof outer?

I've got one...wouldn't be without it in adverse weather. Technically, it is a waterproof removeable outer because it's worn over the top of what ever jacket I have on at the time.
Waterproof inners in general, are not...from personal experience.

Id thought all bike jackets be if not water prof alot more water resistant , its got inner linner

wonder if they make water proof inners not sure may have to ask at the shop

I paid good money ($699) for an apparent all seasons Jacket, its a summer jacket at best.
But like I said in an earlier post, an extra $60 put paid to that dilemma.

The Revit one is a bit expensive. Just ordered another DriRider Thunderwear jacket, RRP is $89. It looks like the 2012/13 model might have varied a bit... but we'll see.

I'm tempted to try a Goretex rain jacket, but those are not cheap options...

Are the Goretex jackets worth the money?

Don't just think Goretex. I have a Dainese textile jacket that has their own branded system that has never let a drop of water in after ten years of daily riding in Dunedin's shithouse weather. Not cheap, but dry, even on big rides.

Any shop that deals with the importer for DriRider can sort you out... If you want online, I saw Cycletreads lists DriRider jackets.

Means the entire body of the jacket gets soaked & heavy. If the outer fabric passes enough air to be cool in hot offroad conditions it will be cold onroad in cooler conditions even with the liner in.

Only in the case of a cheap one. The outer of mine is treated so it doesn't absorb water so no weight or thermal issues, and only lets the air flow when you've got the vents open (which it has 6 on the front and sleeves, and two on the back).
Everything closed and liners in and it's toasty warm. Warmer (even in the rain) than my previous Spool and Dri-Rider jackets.
