    Getting shocks from rain?

    Good Evening,

I currently Ride an Hyosung GT250R 2011 Model, i used to ride in the rain before, but i took it out today to do a bit of clothes shopping for work, while it was raining, i don't know what the cause is i hope someone can help me, while i was riding in the rain when i touch the front breaks i feel a current of shocks going through my fingers, and when i engage the front breaks down i get a bigger shock kindof like when u touch an car door and you get that static shock but it was flowing through - would this be cause something is exposed? i couldn't see anything that can cause it, was just wondering what can cause it, the clutch side is fine, its weird - any help would be greatful

    thanks

Look around the coils and HT leads for shorts, they are one of the few things on a bike which generate enough voltage for you to feel it. The other is the stator, but that is a much lower voltage. Also check the plug gap.

thanks for the help guys, i took it for a ride just before, around the undercover park, and its fine, took it fast and rev it a bit still fine, but when its wet i get the shock,

i took a photo under the bike to see if something might cause that to shock when wet? i saw wires exposed.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps67da0d17.jpg

    possible? when wet

Maybe take it to a shop, they'll know the right bits to look at and should be able to sort you out quickly.

The only thing that I can think of is if an earth wire was left off or loose somewhere.
Maybe between the engine and the frame.

Fixed it for ya. If it was a the real thing it wouldn't run in the rain...

I'd be worried, like bogan sez, there isn't much that you should e able to feel, and if any of those are surging around the electrical system you could be in for a shock, both in the hands and wallet.

that's what i'm thinking, but i don't wanna take it back cause its gnna set me another $90 per hr - just for something loose so tonight i'll have a look around, cause its perfectly fine when i ride it in the dry, its only when the bike gets wet, so its got to be something exposed and getting water in?
