I only watch old TV - hokey-er the better (this thread is fabulous) but Is there a 'modern' show tune posted?

Are the mists of our time rose coloured - or has TV simply lost its themes?

Or is it we heard these tunes soooo many times?

    Theory?

Another angle is how may of them had commercial success as records.

Minder - Waterman's good for you, Welcome Back, Along Came Bronson....Rembrants on Friends - but I thought that was a song that became a theme.

Granville: The "fore-fore-forecast"? That's three fours are twelve... don't you mean the weather "twelvecast"?

So many of today's TV themes are so forgetable. When was the last time you heard of a modern TV show winning an emmy for best composition? Mike Post who wrote many a theme in this thread has won a barrelful of Emmys, but I can say I do not know of any modern ones which came to my attention or really caught my fancy. I like a little the themes for The Mentalist and Lie to Me, Firefly and Fringe is somewhat memorable, but other than that, they all sound similar, rehashed and tired.

Hey, kids! Captain Hero here with Getting Laid Tip 213 - The Backrub Buddy!

Find a chick who’s just been dumped and comfort her by massaging her shoulders, and soon, she’ll be massaging your prostate.

Oh if I ever joined the filth I'd be cranking this lol

Edit, I think Slackbladder had one the best themes ever, loved it how the updated the song to suit the period (and the little songs at the end of season 2)
