$150 per day for a $50 garage is simply ripping riders off by profiteering out of a captive market. A potential $9000.00 profit based on doing nothing; Clearly not seeking riders respect for the officials putting the show together. Take it they'll also be responsible for the over-loading of the circuitry system from the single phased garages? This will occur as numerous people will billet together, all running kettles, tyre warmers, laptops, conmpressors and so on.
Is it really necessary?
Disappointing.

I thought the garages were $200 a day normally. I'm sure that was what I paid a few years ago. If not then I'll look into it.

talking to the organiser?
I've not had a single text (no Craig - I will not do your entry for you) or phone call, nor email. How can things be fixed if the organisers know nothing about it. On the day fixes will NOT happen.

I know this isn't the official channel... but...
The othjer weekend they were $50 per garage. That would be $100 if you wanted BOTH sides! Technically that is 2 garages......
The last couple of times I have hired one up there is has been $50.

So, yup, it is pretty dissapointing if indeed the fee is $150 per day!

Not that I will be racing, but I will be there with my volinteer cap on......

And that way they can confirm it has only been $50 for quite a while... I suspect since about the time Ricoh put their name to the place?

I have been in touch with Ricoh Taupo Motorsport Park and pointed them to this thread. But as no one is really concerned enough even to email the organiser yet I'm not doing any more than that.

They did say that for normal events the garages are $50, and they go though to $200 for Tier one events. As this is a National Championship it's classed as a Tier one event.

So why was this scale not used at last years National round?

I guess the track has to make enough to keep itself going.
I hate to say it, but the tracks not making money, we all know that

Fill them up and divide the cost. Just over $100 for 3 days if ya squeeze in 4 bikes, or $90 for 5 bikes.
Better than taking ya ezy up, and you've got power, and water.

If only racing was free eh.........

(Try paying for an apartment at HD......!!!!!!!)

Err,Vic club didnt run last years round,So why would you ask them?????,Try contacting Taupo motorsport Park,They set the prices and what Skunk said is normal procedure at most tracks including Minefeild,In the meantime....piss off and fix your front number properly
