Having lots of experience in renting space at various fieldays, exhibitions and shows you usually pay a fee on top of the floor space for things like lights, another fee for the power a fee for water as well.

Getting 4 concrete walls and a roof on top of that + security overnight suggest to me that the $50 rate appears to be a token gesture for the mid-week or minor club events. In those circumstances commercial reality kicks in, and the bean-counters say " its best to get something" rather than nothing"

A 1 Tier event (including the practice day directly beforehand) no doubt creates a better likelyhood that demand is higher than supply and thus a more realistic price structure applies.

Im just saying, - if it was my business, thats the way i would run it.

Oh and if someone ( say a club or event organiser) has the balls to hire out the garages ahead of time, and maybe get a good rate from the provider for the bulk hire, - and then make a fair profit on their " risk investment" then good on em.

and don't get me started on the old CA bedford I had back in the 70s,Don't remember what I paid for that,But if it was more than $10 I was robbed,Still atleast if you forgot to close the front doors you could just jump on the brakes and they slid closed,Anybody else remember Jimmy Steadmans Thames with a MK2 Zephyr motor in it???? These young fellas don't know theyre alive LMFAO.

I remember the old MK1 transit we had with a 2000cc V4 back in the UK........... thank god the UK is flatter than NZ.... dont think it would have got past Kaikora.

PMSL!! Bob had a J4 too!! Had a top speed of 80 kms towing a car transporter trailer with a 200 kg sidecar on it!! The trailer was far bigger than the van!!
When you had a headwind, you were down to 40kms!!
I remember we were frequently in first gear up most hills!! Had to damn near take a day off work each side of the weekend just get to and from a track!!

When we were stopped at intersections, I'd jump out of the van and open up the little flaps on the front to allow more air in!!
When we went down the South Island, we carried not a single spare for the chair, but a complete head for the van!!

No wonder we got to drink sooo much piss back then!!

Ricoh Taupo Motorsport Park have dropped the price of the garages to $100 per day for the three days.

Pretty lucky I saw the complaints on here and was able to do something eh?

Try the proper channels if you want things done in future. Stop whinging in cyberspace.

I personally don't have time to find where you may have sent your problem to, and try and fix it. If you have a problem with this event there are two places to go:
race@vicclub.co.nz or admin@tauporacetrack.co.nz
