We will do a better effort next year to attract photographers attention.
This year we contacted those we knew of that had done ALL the prior rounds of Nationals over the years first. And so on "down the ranks". We just didn't have the manpower to do it any other way this year. Those that had consistently supported the Vic Club at other events also got a higher priority.
If you wish to make suggestions on how we could do it better we do have an email address (race@vicclub.co.nz) that you can contact the organiser of our events on. I hear he's a bit of a prat who doesn't take "internet waffle" as a direct contact with the club.
Thanks for that Skunk. email noted for future reference. The CTAS coverage, commentating and interviews were excellent. The event clearly was well managed. I will be using CTAS to watch those rounds in the South Island that I could not attend.

awesome stuff Vic Club!!!!
well run... fantastic job to all volunteers and helpers!
I heard a lot of positive comments in the pits about how well it was run (especially from the SI entrants!)
I had a blast and must admit... i have been put off by seeing high-vis entering or mid corner... worst case of it was the last corner on to the main straight at Ruapuna this year.... distracted me almost every lap... i was quite put off! so i was very happy to see.. rather not see people in the infield at Taupo, let me focus on the job at hand... great idea and i hope it gets extended to other race meets throughout the country.
Cheers Vic Club and of course Kiwibike for making round 5 happen!!
Taking it to the track thanks to: KIWIBIKE INSURANCE & PIRELLI TYRES, EXPERIENCE MOTORCYCLES, EBC Brakes, SUPERSPROX Sprockets, TSUBAKI Chains, RST Leathers, REPSOL Oils, FutureGrafix, Autolink
As nadroj says, the angle hides the true picture. The bike came to rest several metres from the tyre wall, which in turn is around 1m high. I'm OK standing there, but then I'm not looking down the lense at the action...
Feel free to report to organisers (if you haven't already). Can't fix something if no-one knows about the issue... Either it was quiet or you should have tried going slowerI counted up to a dozen in various places around the T2-3 area (I was on T3 on Sunday) during the busiest periods.
