Side stand cutout

It's a PITA to have to put the scooter up on the centre stand or switch the motor off then on again when hopping off the beast to open the driveway gate, stop and check that I did shut the topbox etc. Is it much of a job to bypass this cut out feature?

I know its there to keep me safe and protect me from my own actions, But I am quite capable of choosing my own level of responsibility.

Also, the Yamaha Beewee has two headlights with 25w bulbs. If I upgrade these to a whooping great 35w bulb each side, the extra 20watts shouldn't overtax the electrical system will it?

Shouldn't be a big job, just get in there with some tools and a multimeter.

50->70W is quite a big increase, I'd think a wiring upgrade would be a good idea.

I called at the auto electrcians. He said the wiring for the lights may have to be upgraded although manufacturers tend to have about a 50% margin built into the wiring specs. I'll take the front panel off next week and run the scooter up to him.

Tis not the wiring that will be wanting but the feeble output from the alternator

centre stand: find the switch, it will be a tamper-pin style one, find out if it's n/o or n/c when the stand is up (engine runs), then wire it permanently to that.
(measure continuity across switch at both positions)

wiring: you can get HID kits from jaycar bro. i know you need a million jigga watts on the front of that thing. DOO EEET!

Unplug the switch, if that doesnt work try joining the two wires.

While not the same, my bobber with a suicide shifter has had the clutch kill switch removed and the wiring joined.

Does mean the bike can be electric started in gear... but face it - you dont want a bloody cut off on a suicide shifter!

Mine only cuts out when the side stand is down AND IN GEAR.

In neutral ... it's starting and runs fine. SOMETHING isn't right with your bike wiring.
