    New Christchurch rider, hopefully (jolly_26)

Hey guys what's up! Got my license yesterday, and am looking forward to buying my first bike as soon as my car sells. Currently studying Mechanical Engineering at UC, and therefore I'll be buying at a student price, will try to find a 2008 Ninja 250 or similar. Have done years of dirt biking on big two strokes so will be odd to be on something with a small power output and heavy weight (relatively). Any advice you feel like giving to a new rider please do, or anything you'd recommend reading would be great

Hey bro, im a first year student at uc studying engineering. Having just moved down im still finding roads but i can say, if you've got bike experience go for an older (late 80s, early 90s) 250. iv currently got a honda jade with 40hp which gives a much better ride than a mates 2009 ninja. Give me a yell when you end up with something, im always looking for people to ride with

    Buy a motard.

You're in Chch. Jump the cracks
Plus similar weight to what you're used to.

I had an '89 FZR250..... I wouldn't recommend buying bikes that old. The amount of issues with them. Also Yamaha shop in Hamilton refused to even look at my engine (wonder if that was the attitude why they have gone bust?).

Seriously even a Hyosung is better quality and almost as fast as an old as fuck 4cyl. Go for a newer bandit if you are after the 4cyl.

Yay more Christchurch Kawasaki riders. Welcome.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
