Wouldn't wear anything but a full face. Spent way too much on dentistry in my life time to knock teeth out when a simple chin guard was all that was needed to save them![]()
That's interesting feedback. I wear an XR900 in a XXL (with inner styrene lovingly crushed to facilitate fit) and was wondering if the new XR1000 was a different set up. By the way, by the latest "Two Wheels" and have a squiz at some rad custom graphics you can get over there...Originally Posted by Ogri

Yeah, i have had the Shoei RF900 not sure what design (it has a big yellow star on the side) and that is really good. It is really comfortable and has a low amount of wind noise. With ear plugs in i hear hardly anything.
I got 2 tinted visors and a clear visor for it. The visor swapping over is so good, you can change in about 30 seconds and that would be the longest i have taken.
Might get an X11 at the end of the year, as the RF900 is sporting some "wounds" from earlier this year when i fell off![]()
Wear an open face most of the time, have done for thirty years.
Have a Davida jet that is more quite than my full face.
Only wear the full face if it's already raining when I leave home or I,m on a long trip.
The article I posted on a different thread
May change some peoples minds

May as well just wrap ya' self in cotton wool an never step out the front door.
I really think most of us know the risks and take what ever form of protection
we feel comfortable with.
Yes Yes Jack - stick to your open face helmet - just don't expect us to peal your face off the road when you crash.....YUMMY
Having had a college friend who binned a bike in a open face helmet - this is the LAST form of protection I woudl choose for a helmet. Yeah your brain may be okay - but too bad if you have to eat through a straw whilst your facial structure is reconstruction (yes I am VAIN before you reply JR).
In saying that tho - your bike would look wrong if you had a full face on
This should be interesting.
Just how would my bike look any different depending on the helmet I wear.
Hell I look at it either way it looks the same to me.
I wear an open face because I like the feel,I don't like full faces because they make me feel closed in,as in may as well be in a car.
And as for anybody peeling me off the road, well don,t hold ya' breath,I am a natural survivor and I don't need any BS show of concern on behalf of somebody that don't know me or where I am coming from,It rings kind'a false .It's your attitude that gets you by,not the gear you wear,I thought you worked that out and thats why you spat the dummy.
And BTW I don't question how other bikers ride, what they ride,or what they wear while they ride. And before you start on the ACC thing,I pay my dues and also have my own private insurance.
But tell me,How would my bike look different?![]()
For fucks sake - lighten the hell up.......
As for 'show of concern' - not fucken likely.. As for ACC - who cares and who am I to talk. As for your supposed 'ten foot tall, bullet proof and holier than thou' on a bike attitude - good luck.....you won't crash - I prefer to wear clothes on the eventually I may - I was always told - prevention is better than cure.
Maybe the Darwin Theory means you are supposed to wear a full face helmet....who I am to stand in the way
Yeah but you still havn't told me how my bike would look different![]()
Crashed with a full face then got a lone flip up...flip up would have done that considering where my head hit the kerb
Keep your end up and your leg over>>>:spudguita
Cheers Scary
i wear a roof boxer flip up

it's terrible in the rain - leaks like a seive - but looks MEAN...
and a full face CRAFT VR1 which is made by KBC (gotta love those $50 smoke visors) - it's a brilliant helmet - light and comfy.
I always wear an armoured jacket, my sidis and kevlar gloves. (of course, other clothes too)
i dress to fall off, because i fall off.
you may not fall off - or just be a double hard bastard, all power to you.
oh - and have you ever seen someone who hurt the BACK of their head in a motorcycle accident? i've seen a lot of facial damage from open face helmets, often women, often on scooters. i think i'd rather go without the back of my helmet than the front, but hey, i'm exceptionally beautiful.
I am Jack's complete lack of remorse .
Full face - no exceptions for me.
If I fall, or something hits me in the face, want to know there is something going to slow it down at the very least. The opssibility of part of it folding up (flip top) doesn't appeal. Likewise the option of nothing in front of my face...
I think anyone that's been riding more than a year or two has has a bee or stone WHACK! into their helmet...
Gees Louise, I don't want to have skin stopping that thing at 100kph ... ish...
As for falling and travelling face down along ashfelt.... shudder
Nope... simple but effective full face for me. If I want air, I buy one with vents, and or open the visior.
