I may well have gone for this if I didn't have my folks coming over.

Never been there myself, looks like a nice spot, might take a towel
We are joining up with Carmel along the way.

Stayed a weekend up there once when I just had to get out of Auckland. Lovely spot with some nice roads in to it. the highlight for me was the walk to the point and back. A few hours through wind so strong that any loose grass caught on the electric fence was horizontal. Some very nice secluded bays along the way too, mostly sheltered from the wind.

And then there's the longest footbridge in the southern hemisphere. In those winds it felt a little exposed in the middle.

Will a bike fit on it?

Probably but I wouldn't trust the weight. While it was fine for foot traffic it felt like anything any heavier would probably end up in the drink. The bridge is pretty old and the bed is made of wooden slats.
