Yes, MNZ could've been told to push off but the request was perfectly reasonable, polite (as polite as Billy can be anyway haha) and the justification for doing so was excellent. If you want to find out what the reasons given were ...... (you should know this bit)

I can only assume there are politics going on here that are over my head, if the road race commissioner would in fact answer me if I contacted him, and if the answer was in fact entirely reasonable, why would it be a bridge too far to explain this to all?

I can only assume that the original thread subject is related to that incident and current situation, and I would also assume the red rep is from you,( as that is the only rep related to this with "information" , if so, unfortunate that you feel giving red is the answer to being mildly pushy about freedom of speech. Am assuming there is an investigation in play, if that is the case, would it not be generally easier to simply say exactly that, and advise to all, that discussion on a public ( privately owned notwithstanding ) forum needs to be curtailed untill furthur notice.
