What a lot of old tripe Spud,The internet and any public forum is OBVIOUSLY not the place to have sensitive MNZ business discussed,READ THE RULEBOOK,Most of the information is already available either in there,Or in any supp regs approved by me as roadrace commissioner for any meetings held under an MNZ permit.
If you require any additional info and it is not already available on the MNZ website,Contact me at your first convenience,I am always available and ensure that any queries are followed up,As has been suggested by the moderator of this thread,To date 4 people have contacted me requesting info on the removal of the original thread,On hearing my reasoning ALL have agreed it was the right thing to do,Including the OP,Despite his rant on Facebook this morning about freedom of speech.
True, but it certainly wasn't made an issue the way Skunk and co drum it into us at Vic Club following previous tragedy's. It just struck me that the learnings at different clubs are vastly different. The scrutineer down there was right on the ball with filters wired correctly after the spill the previous year (wire pulling filter undone rather than done up), something which hasn't really been pushed up North. Hence my reference to individual rather than collective learning.
I realise these things are sensitive but it seems doubly tragic that these terrible events happen and we aren't able to learn anything from them. Twice I've been at a track in the last 12 or so months where crashes have resulted in the worst possible outcome. One I witnessed directly so I know in graphic detail exactly what happened, the other I haven't the faintest idea what went wrong. Rumour has it something mechanical, something I could be doing, or might do wrong myself
There is a completely understandable "now is not the time" sentiment..............but another time and further information never seems to eventuate. I guess this will be the same but it just seems to add to the tragedy that other comptitors aren't able to learn from it.
Hey look on the bright side of this guy's. At least now you are in no doubt as to who is running the show.
"That's rooted!! What's next??"
Well, then I guess Alison could get in touch with MT, explain her reasoning, and if MT saw fit he could remove the thread. Same goes for the hypothetical NZRFU example. I guess if enough cry babies decided that they needed to vote with their feet, then perhaps a policy change could be in order.
I think the site is moderated fairly for the most part. In the realms of the hypothetical, what if the NZ Popo wanted all the cop threads deleted? Well so what if they did? For all the waaaaaing going on, 4 people so far have bothered to actually go to the trouble of following up in the way that was originally instructed. Apparently now that those people are in possession of the facts, they accept the removal.
Keep on chooglin'
F**K me......... the thread discussing the removal of the thread is nearly as big again............. round and round in circles with lots of sarcasm and wit..... but very little valuable input. KB Rules
Take it how you will Billy, but the post was meant constructively.
Where in the rulebook does it tell me why I get emails from MNZ about a bullshit award for it's website but don't receive safety information or alerts/reminders or findings related to incidents? MNZ could/should have sent out an email highlighting the Mobil 98 issue for example, instead a competitor could easily rock up to HD or Taupo and repeat Choppa's innocent mistake.
No-one expects the full nitty gritty during sensitive times, but as it is we get virtually no information about anything, ever. I know MNZ has safety as one of it's primary goals, but they don't half make it hard for themselves through poor/zero communication.
