This is my favourite line from the cyclist haters.

Never mind that I very possibly pay more in tax than you earn in a year, and adequately contribute to the upkeep of the roads through the metric shitload I pay in rates, as well as ACC levies on 2 motorbikes and 2 cars (and while I'm here, when did they sneak through the rego increase on diesels to the same as a motorbike, thieving cunts) so if I choose to ride my bike while still paying all of the above whether I like it or not, suck it up princess.

Or, to put it another way....

    What a cock.

its always awesome to blame the cyclist for cars swerving.. after all, they dont have any right to be on the road, are all nutters who ride like raving lunatics and are most probably in a gang.

My sister told me cyclists were at fault for causing traffic jams on te irirangi drive. I asked "how?" - her reply.. every day there is one on the road and people refuse to pull out and pass them so they cause a traffic jam. My response.. "so.. who is causing the traffic jam.. the cyclist who knows there is more than enough room for a car to pass on that road (hell, even two abreast can be passed easily enough there), or the idiot in the car who has no idea how to drive and should be banned from the road for endangering peoples lives?"

    Its just awesome.

Of course... motorcyclists and scooter riders NEVER ride dangerously, or split lanes, or speed, or run lights... never..

I seem to recall from my childhood that my sisters bike had a large bit of it's frame missing, so she could get on easily and not hurt her cunt !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

fuck off, cyclists are the first to whinge about people passing too close, now you're whinging about people leaving too much room.

Your sister has a valid point, but more importantly, is she hot?

As a solution I reckon they ought to make a law that says that if a cyclist wants to ride on the road, that they should have a right mirror, so that they'll be able to see what's coming up behind them and they'll have time to manouver THEMSELVES out of the way instead of US having to do it for them!
Fact is that they already get their OWN piece of the road for FREE, so why can't they just stay in it! After all they don't need a licence or have ACC levies to pay and I'd say that bugger-all of them own property and pay for the upkeep of the roads out of THEIR rates. I heard (just lately actually) they've been moaning about scooters wanting to share THEIR lane. Hell if it's only a 50 whassa big deal, it's not that much faster than a cyclist anyway!

I ride a Honda FJS600 Silver Wing Maxi-scooter that does 0-100 in 6.3 seconds and she'll do 116mph with 2 up. As there were only 3 ever imported to NZ they are often mistaken for being a Suzuki 250 which has a similar body shape. She may LOOK like a step through, but she handles just like a motorbike and truth is that she's actually faster than some of them Harleys and it sure makes you wonder why anyone would want one of them. I heard some of them are actually made by Honda these days anyhow.
I reckon that owning a Harley was cool in the 1950's when only 1 fella in the whole country had 1. Now you have to get up real close because some of them aren't Harleys at all but are only lookalikes.

Not much more to say really...

By far the best thread in a while....

Have to say, scooters in the cycle lane are just dangerous, had one doing it on the way to uni. Just got in everyones way, nearly got himself killed three times, and this was with a cycle free cycle lane. Was amazing to watch just how oblivious he was to everything around him too.

And yep, love that if I cycle, I automatically don't pay for anything to do with the roads. Ever
