On Nat Radio this afternoon, Mary Wilson asked Chester Borrows why the wife or partner of fraudsters (such as Rod Petricivich, David Ross, etc) would not be charged in the same way. After all they too must be aware that there's something going on.
Borrows tap danced rather fast around saying it wouldn't be the same, he should have just come straight out and said that these people are probably National supporters.

I know it is a human rights to reproduce,...but when you see a South Auckland solo mother of 8 with kids from various fathers on welfare pleading poverty, but still managing to drink and smoke (not a cheap habit), that annoys me (not insinuating anyone in particular, just a typical example). Like someone said earlier, why have kids if you can't afford them. It us working class that pay for her.

But yeah .. that sort of thing does piss me off .. I Just have bugger all idea of what to do about it ... if you punish her in a monetary way it's the kids who suffer because there's not enough food ... and are at risk and the cycle is reproduced ...

People do have a right to reproduce (well, except for some shitheads here - but I'm sure we could argue for days who they would be ... :bitchslap ... but by the time they have eight kids it's too late to do much except make sure the kids are fed, clean and go to school ...

Makes me shake my head when somebody I know is on ultra-low income pauses at the check out in the supermarket and moans about "the price of groceries these day" - and I can see a carton of smokes among the instant noodles, bottles on 'no-name' coke and orange juice and 6 loaves of el cheapo white bread...
