Neither the rider nor their bike connected with the guard rail. It was the soft earth between the asphalt and the rail that brought them down.

ive seen pretty much all of rnickeys videos and in more than one there are perfect examples of incorrect body position / correct body position and target fixation.

if you want to see what not and what to do watch some to them.

what did they do wrong? not looking where they were going?
Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.

Probably. It's hard to overstate the importance of NOT LOOKING AT THAT FUCKING RAIL LOOMING UP ON THE RIGHT THERE.

He was already in trouble when he first appeared, close enough to the gravel that the little extra countersteer he needed to correct his line was already risky.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

I thought it was the fist full of front brake that brought him down.

He took a bad line on the bend. He looked fine going in, but failed to lean the bike over enough. Perhaps he needs a lesson in counter steering and looking where you want to go.

All part of the learning process I suppose

Trying to chase/ follow/ catch up to his mate on a supersports bike in the front? Panicked? Stiffened shoulder and arms? Fixed torso position? Target fixation? Handfull of brakes? A bit of this and that?
