    Underwater video cameras?

I'd like to put a video camera under the inflatable on the local hydro lakes and get some footage of the lake bed, fish life etc. Has anyone had experience of using a camera on a pole or similar setup? I'm thinking of shallow depths. My point and shoot camera is supposed to be water proof down to 3m. Not sure if I want to take a chance on it tho.

I guess a camera would need additional lighting if too far below the surface.

GoPros are waterproof down to 60M and you can buy floaty attachments so if you drop it or it comes away from whatever is holding it they will just float to the surface. Would be easy to rig up a light for one as well.
