Jim.Cox and Umph, I've cleaned out all the temp files, cookies etc and installed/ran that Malware prog. It found 3 objects which have been ground up and spat out. No sign of the problem now so hopefully the problem has been given the heave ho.

Hitcher, The only thing I had downloaded lately was a online service manual for the scooter. I suspect this came with some hidden baggage, as it had a number of additions, the prog wanted to install.

go into your extensions settings(tools- then extensions) on chrome and check what extensions you are running and delete the ones you dont recognize or want. One of the chrome updates included free adds just for you.
