    drink driveing not worth it.

of those 3 people that got killed in the van here in taranaki i knew 1 and knew his father really well one of the others is a close cousin of one of my mates and i also knew the driver of the car responsible for doing this to them.
it really hits home when this happens and you know alot of the peopple involved.
ive never drunk and drivin or even ridden when im full but ive never really thought about other people doing it.
but if you live in a small populated place and you drink drive its not if you get caught by the cops its if you hit someone you are probably going to know someone affected.
all i say is is you drink then drive you are a fuck head.
the guy that hit them i thought was a good guy but now im like what a fucktard.
    anyway thats my veiw.
please if you are out and on the wee's dont even contemplate driving or riding home or wherever, its not worth it.

Drink drivers rate very low on my list. I have no respect for them, wouldn't piss on one if they were on fire. Fuckers.

Drink drivers cause so much shit
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

The difference between drunks that kill and us is that we do give a shit. Most of those scum are recidivists, nothing will stop them short of removing limbs.
That filth in Taranaki kept driving for 40 mins after losing the cops. How much warning did the prick need?

doesn't take an accident like that to know it's a fukin stupid thing to do.. My heart goes out to those who knew the good people in the van. They all seemed like there were on agood paths in their lives, and so lifelife fukwit robs them of it. Just not fair.

It always amazes me when I talk to seemingly rational, intelligent people who think that the reason you don't drink and drive is because "it's not worth it- you might get caught". What about "you might kill yourself, or worse, have to live with killing someone else"?

As for the dickheads who think it's all right to smoke dope and then drive "cause it makes you safer- you drive slower". Erm- have they considered that they might be driving slower because their brains are operating slower and have difficulty processing all of the information being thrown at them?? A bit like your 83 year old granny, she drives slow for the same reason- slowed reaction times and a slower 'processor speed'.

Tony, while I don't condone driving after smoking, I would beg to differ about generalising the effects on the smokers brain. I do smoke and I don't find it slows my mind down at all. In fact I feel I process things quicker as for myself it is both a pain 'relief' and also a stimulant. I love learning new things after a smoke, I retain what I've learnt impeccably. I enjoy reading books, currently reading a book by Stephen Hawking, always pick it up after a smoke. I know it has different effects on different people, just don't generalise it. You may have a different opinion than me on this issue, and I respect what you believe, but don't put me in the same group of un-motivated brain dead people who choose to smoke.

Not something I would ever do- I didn't realise you smoked it, but I can see why you would. As you say it has different effects on different people. I'm pretty sure my doctor smokes the stuff for stress relief, and it certainly doesn't slow his brain down. If it did, he wouldn't be my doc. With some people it definitely fucks with their minds, which is why I don't smoke it.

Exactly, you never realised I smoked it. I don't exactly fit the typical view of someone who smokes. But I can understand your point, as I too know people who shouldn't drive after a smoke. I also know people who shouldn't drive fullstop.

5th Gear did a test with a regular dope smoker who did a set route sober. Then he had a spliff and redid the course. The second time had fewer errors and was done in the same time.
Although he thought it took longer, maaaan.

I would feel dreadful if I ever had an accident and harmed or killed someone even I were sober - I don't think I could live with myself if I had been drinking at the time. There would always be that "what if I hadn't had a drink? Would I have reacted quicker?" Yes, the financial penalty is one thing, but the likelihood of harming some other innocent motorist (have you noticed how most of the drink drive offenders survive the horrific accidents that kill their victims?) is the biggest reason why I don't risk drinking and driving. It would NEVER be worth it.

I don't care if the offender is a rubbish collector, unemployed, a lawyer or a mother of three - if they choose to drink and drive, they aren't worth a toss. My condolences to the families and friends of the victims - they did all the right things and were decent people but all it takes is one idiot and the fact of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

So where are all those wanky civil libertarians that have laid the base for police pulling out of 'dangerous' pusuits now? Their silence is deafening

Wasn't the reason something to do with an unacceptable number of deaths during pursuits.
Or is it OK if someone gets killed while you're trying to stop a driver from killing someone
