RG50 battery?

Hey all

I have a Suzuki SMX50 which has the same engine as the RG50. I want to add a battery to improve the lights at idle which are very dim, especially when using the brake. Has anyone here added a battery to their rg50 and if so can you answer a few questions please?:
- what size battery did you use?
- where did you wire it in? Lighting circuit or directly after the rectifier/regulator?
- did you add a fuse and if so what rating and type?
- any other things I should be careful about?

hmm, more research indicates that the rg50 had a battery anyway? 6v or 12v?
