Going up one tooth helps the economy and buz on the Hornet. And corrects the speedo error. Ive got a few bits kicking about for Hornets if you need anything.

I like the ST1100. I see something like that in my future. Let me know if you put yous on the market.

Will do. Haven't decided yet which one to sell. The ST is the kind of bike that it would be hard to sell because on paper its not worth much but in practice it's pretty much equivalent to a $20k bike. Wish I could have kept every bike I'd owned (except the VStrom - didn't get on with that one...).

I put a screen on like this to my Hornet. Improved fuel economy and made it much more pleasant to ride long distance. I still have the screen somewhere.

I would recommend going up a tooth on the front as well. And some decent fork springs, they are very soft.

I nearly bought a blue one set up very like that - low pipe, tail tidy, topbox etc. Also had Ohlins shock and fork springs, but it was older and higher kms than the one I got - still a nice bike though. If you want to part with the screen I can help you with that for a fair price The one we put on there is a bit smaller and helps a bit but I think a larger one would be better.

Yup would part with it. Just in the way. Will post up a pic of it during the week.

Also have a bit of other stuff for a Hornet. K&N filter, progressive fork springs etc.

I do like the ST1100s. Will have to try my girl on one sometime.

Maybe we can catch up next time I'm in Auckland - I'm seriously thinking about giving up touring and parting with the ST1100 so you'd be welcome to take her for a spin and see if you were interested in one. And I could take a look at the Hornet stuff you have.

The early ones might be fine, but I've had a bit of bad experience with older bikes with low km - electrical issues, rust flakes in tank, tuning issues etc. From my experience a bike that's been ridden consistently from day one and properly maintained even with high mileage will usually be a better bike than one that's sat around for long periods. But nothing like checking them out and taking for a spin to get a feel for it.

You bought it for $3,100 and you now want $3,900 for it???

The number plate alone is worth $2,500 so I suppose if you added that it has increased the value??

No we didnt. We tried a PC800 at Red Baron and It wouldnt work as the rear peg was to close to the panniers. Guess it would be the same for the ST.

I still think we could make one work.
