    Love New Zealand Track Days

    I have just been looking at the pricing for Track days around the world. You know we are lucky paying $50 to hit the tracks.

    UK= Between 125 and 350 Pounds
    USA= Between 100 and 600 $US
    Germany= Between 100 and 450 $US

    Aren't we lucky
    To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
    And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
    For the ashes of his fathers
    And the temples of his Gods

    yep we just have no idea how lucky we are
    Even $100 a day is pretty good going.

    I wouldnt call 300 quid expensive for a track like donnington, brands, hockenheim, assen, silverstone, le mans etc. It would be expesinve for something in the nature of manfield tho.

    It also be interested in the level of service given for that 300 quid as a comparison.

    There was a thing in a recent Cycle World, about a couple that hired the ENTIRE WSB spec track of Kyalami (sp) for something like $30us. They had the whole track to themselves and a security guard opened it up for them and then opened a pit garage for them to use.

    Now that's value.

    Hmm and here is me groaning about $90 for puke....

    Are there no cheaper days than that (90 buckaroos) at puke.. or are they just shorter 'give it a go' type single 20min track runs.

    Next one I'll find the time and go.

    Aren't we lucky
    Yeah Very lucky !!....ya making me jealous already

    There are some cheaper tracks though...but not many below £100

    There's been a lot of pricing wars going on between the Trackday organisers and some discounts can be found if you're careful about who you book with.Because of this we were paying more for the same track time a few years ago or the prices have stayed the same....still bloody expensive though

    A few Current prices

    Donington £165 Full circuit and 105db...Short circuit £135 ...usually a 98db day for that amount

    Brands Hatch (The most expensive circuit in the UK )Full circuit £300....Short circuit £145

    Oulton Park £165

    Cadwell Park £100....A wicked track...and my favourite

    Mallory Park £100

    They're all full days.

    Track days are run with 3 groups Novice,Inter's and Advanced and on a full day you should get 7x20 minute sessions....less if there are a lot crashes and the red flag gets put out

    Prices are rising in Aussie now, with typical prices about $200 for a good day at Eastern Creek or Phillip Island. But then you get a whole lot more for your money at those days than you do here in NZ. You can still get onto Wakefield Park, north of Canberra, for $90 a day and that's a bloody good day out.

    But for the ultimate experience...

    If you join the Manawatu car club, ($60 - yes bikers are allowed), you get half price track practice days at Manfield. ie. $40 winter rate. $50 summer rate.

    Good day for 40 bucks ! I reckon keep it as cheap as possible and you'll get twice as many bikes. When you add tyres and all the other shit you'll be surprised with the cost. But then I'm an old fart who was fanging around Manfeild over thirty years ago, maybe I'm out of touch ? G.
