Be pronounced in a court of law as not guilty of manslaughter.
While there may well be circumstances the public aren't privy to, and considering there might possibly be compassion that it was their own whanau they killed, I wasby the outcome. If you drink and race your vehicle surely common sense tells most people there will possibly be a very messy outcome.
Ok I'm sure no one set out to deliberately kill anyone but FFS that's like playing with a loaded gun then saying "oh, I didn't mean to shoot you dead, it was an accident".
What kind of twisted message are we sending when such a tragedy is treated so lightly? Two young women are dead as a result of deliberate and wilful recklessness, but hey, neither driver meant to kill them eh.
Before anyone bleats on about how the GUILTY perpetrators are probably very sad, distraught even, at what happened, '(cos it was their own who were the victims) would be outcome be any less gut wrenching if it had been complete strangers they had murdered through their selfish stupidity?
