I need an engine for an XT660

Hi there,

I purchased an XT660 recently, and it had done 100'000 K's... All was well.... until a few 1,000K's later...

Long and the short of it, it needs a new bearing on the crank shaft, but apparently (according the the Yamaha chap at Cycletreads, who seems to really know his stuff!) the bearing can't easily be replaced due to a brass shim that holds it in place...

Anyway, the long and short of it is that all the parts, and then labour, its going to cost me circa 2k+ to get sorted...

So, I'm ideally looking for a 660 engine (I believe most of them will swap out, be it XT660R X Z etc etc.. possibly even the quads?

Anyone got, or know of an engine???

go onto e-bay and look in the Raptor quad section.. cranks std & up to +12..some are very good prises
the raptor 660 , 700 use the same motor as the XT..
