You can get shrinky with sealant already in it, works well for a fresh build but you can't get it over most existing plugs / sockets.
What I use there is a rubber self-amalgamating tape, you just stretch it slightly as you wrap it on and it essentially becomes a solid rubber tube over the joint area.
I also spray the shit outa any exposed contactor or plug surfaces with prolan, also around pretty much every exposed joint.
You can get the sealing shrinky and the self-amalgamating tape from some electrical trade outlets, the prolan from some engineering supply outlets.
PS: I used to use spray-on band aid too, but I haven't seen it for ages.
