That was an awsome ride, the weather was great and the roads fun as usual.

justsomeguy, what happened to you? We waited/were running late and left at about 10:45 but you didn't show up.

Quite a few other people were there at the beginning of the ride for the coro loop ride or wherever it was you were going. Took a pic of that.

I've got sore as knees now from shifting my weight around, I guess I need to do some weight training or something.

My ears are still kinda blocked, so it was hard hearing you guys sometimes which meant I was even quieter than usual.

There was a bit of confusion at the end of the ride, no one waited at the Tuakau turn off. Draco was going to go to Tuakau, but I suggested we go to Pukekohe, which turned out to be the wrong way. Zed, was that you and a couple of the other guys we saw going back from Pukekohe to Tuakau?

Anyway, it was still a bloody good ride.

Twas a great ride today with spectacular weather and road conditions, thanks for organising it Loosebruce!

I rode down solo to AB Papakura this morning after getting no response from my text to meet up with Loosebruce (them long nights are killers huh Bruce!), and met up with quite a group of riders. Among them were the Track day enthusiasts, the Coromandel Groupies, and us diehard 22ites, around 25 bikes or so, and SpankMe said another group had left for Pukekohe earlier. The sun was out in all its glory and there was a feeling of excitement in the air!

Ours was a comfortable sized group with 9 bikes (3 x GSXR1000, GSXR750, NC30, VTR1000SP1, CBR1100, CBR400, Zeal250), and GixxerBoy (GSXR1000) & Greenman (ZZR1100) joined us part way down 22 and then parted with us after having lunch at Ngaruawahia.

It was a fast ride with the Gixxers leading the bunch with wheelies galore! After a while you get used to Death being on one wheel alot, but I must say it was very entertaining watching him do standup wheelies around some of those long sweeping bends, and his timing on putting the front down was impeccable!

Everyone rode well IMO and I was very comfortable with the good spirit shown by all, especially the guys in front waiting at the main turnoffs. We got a bit split up at the end of the ride entering Tuakau and missed the turnoff, so 3 of us continued thru to Puke and stopped by the roadside above the track where we hoped some of the others would meet us, but we decided to head back to Tuakau and that's where we passed Erik and Draco going the opposite direction! Met up with Death again at Tuakau, not sure where Bruce and Nicko got to? We decided to go home via Pokeno cos the coppers were on the alert we had heard! We passed the po-lice (orange/blue) earlier as we finished the 22 and two of us who had radar detectors got a blip...lucky we weren't going excessively fast eh!!

I nearly didn't ride today because I'm full of a 'fresh' cold, but I'm glad I did...there's something about riding that takes your mind off your troubles! Feeling the after-effects of now though. *cough* *cough*

Much looking forward to the next one!

yea.....gave me a fright of a lifetime. I was fully cranked on the side when I exited that right hander on a crest when suddenly all hell broke loose on my radar. Slowed down just in time to below-excessive speed, and I think that kinda made her (the police) happy enough not to do a U turn and catch me. Glad to see someone using discretion.

Dammit...never expected any police in that road. I thought SH22 is supposed to be NZ version of Nurburgring?

Yeah opened my eyes up when i saw the police car, well down into 22???? And um i was well on the wrong side of bye bye licence terriotry, needless to say i slowed down and waited for the officer to catch up with me and give me the nessary punishment or did I? I turned off to Mercer as i was a bit in front of the group, waited a while saw Marmoot went to meet him but he'd dissapeared?? So took some back roads to SH2 and shot through to hanua etc, to meet up with Death, Sam, Mattt on the M/way.
All in all what a top ride, awesome weather, good to finally get out on a ride with ya Nicko, everyone put up a great pace, Erik mate i think you need a new bike, you're going bloody well out there, keep it up Also good to meet sam finally as well.
And to top the day off, more than a few of us are due for new rubber, nice.

I would say till next weekend, but $$$$ might have something to say about that.

    Cool

Yeh,cop fodder.....Myself and Nicko shot thru to Tuakau and waited in the pub carpark,Nicko shot off and eventually Sam,Mattt and Zed showed up and said Eric and Draco had gone straight through.
Apart from the ending it was a bloody good day, lotsa sun not much wind and lotsa tyre killing and wheelies and no crashes despite Sams effort.
What on earth was the HP doing down there? Is nothing sacred?FF I thought you had this covered!

Very good ride cheers guys. Haven't been down 22 for ages and it's in a hell of a state - makes for an interesting ride tho.

Everyone was on fine form, good to meet some of you who I hadn't met before!

    You didn't????? I missed a good ride.........
I went out at Mercer and pottled down Motorway to home instead......
Anyhow, maybe for the best. The rear tyre couldn't handle it anymore and I was skidding everywhere on the way back through 22 anyway. Got some brown-undies moments back there.
