    Good to hear :-) My hearing was extremely good once (tested at well above average) but years on bikes took off the top end (high pitch) hearing. I think a lot depends - as you say - on the helmets you use, fairing etc. I found the best benefit is being less tired over long distance (and not having to listen to wife/girlfriend)
    The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight underpants.

    I used to find them quite painful but I stopped keeping them in with a staple gun, and that has helped somewhat.
