What is "Day License" and how to get it?
    Is it a pay-on-the-day thing?
    What are the requirements?

As it is a MNZ permitted event a MNZ licence is required, if you don't hold a season licence day ones are available to cover you. You do however need a current MNZ affiliated club membership to get one.

So I just need to be a registered MNZ member (e.g., AMCC), then I pay-on-the-day for the Day License?
    How much is it?

Yep if your an AMCC club member then you just pay on the day for the MNZ day licence, pretty sure day licence cost is $20 (emailed treasurer to confirm but he's away for the weekend) will let you know if price is different.

That's interesting - when I was involved with the Cliff Hanger Hill Climb, MNZ did not allow day licenses to be issued. Hence Cliff Hanger Promotions split from MNZ and took out their own indemnity insurance.

At one stage they weren't doing day licences at all for any event but I think that only lasted about a year

Sorry for taking an unrelated post in this thread, but can someone point me to Cliffhanger hillclimb event requirements? I am thinking of next year, and unfortunately their website is rather...abysmal.

    And thanks Rcktfsh.
Would look at joining AMCC at some stage, although may not make this event.

Here is the Rule from MNz website.

    5.2.5 One Event Licences
One Event Licences can be issued to competitors at Club Events. These
Licences cannot be used at the following events; New Zealand or Island
Championships, Street Racing, except in the instance of a MNZ Championship
licence but has forgotten it for the event, the competitor must sign the
disclaimer on the One Event Licence application, and is subject to a fine &
Board referral should they are found not to hold a MNZ Championship licence.

The decision of having One Event Licences available for purchase is that of the
host Club. The Steward of the meeting has jurisdiction to decline an
    application at his/her discretion.
The Steward of the meeting must approve the One Event Licence application
at the time of purchase; approval is by way of signing the Licence.

Shame my bike doesn't qualify. It's a fun piece of road.
