    Hornet 250

    Hi Guys,

Selling my hornet due to a project bike I've found and need the money for.
Not gonna tell you all the specs because chances are if you're looking at a hornet, you'll know what it has.

I'm trying to be completely upfront about this bike. Its no where near perfect.

Starts everytime. Only issue is the carbs are out of balance and 1 cylinder will run on and off during idle. Easy fix for those with a little bit of technical knowledge. No effect on the handling and runs sweet past 2k. Beyond the minor idling issue, there are no other faults that I am aware of. This bike has little faults here and there and runs reliably despite its high mileage.

    Oil change about 4000km ago
    chain oiled every 500km.
    Tyres have about 50-60%
Speedo gauge is cracked on the right side mount and the right gauge backlight doesn't work but doesn't shake. Rev Counter kinda works. but not accurate. (generally off by about 500rpm +/-).
No oil or coolent leaks. Fork seals all ok.
Paintwork could do with some work. primer grey. Tank has a spot where the primer was moved before it could dry. Had to rush home before it could dry and put too much pressure on it.

Would be a good cheap run around. Gets around 25 city riding. Open road drops to about 22. 18 if you're absolutely wringing it.

Bought the bike at 64000 about 4months ago and it hasn't given me any issue beyond the idling. did 5000 in the first two months and only ride it when I need to go into central auckland now that I'm studying. Rode it virtually everyday and on 7hour trips all over the lower north island. Only dropped by me once trying to maneuver the bike on my third day of ownership.

Rego finishes 250513. WOF due 180313. May get a new WOF depends on neg.

Open to views and test rides. Live on the north shore. Pm me to view. Looking for around 2k as is.

Beer will be tolerated but not accepted :P Oh and the topbox is not included. And that isn't me in that photo for you stalkers out there.

Still for sale...I'm still using it so the Kms are slowly going up. Hit 71 000 today on the way back from hamilton. Apart from increase mileage, no change

Haven't gotten round to booking it in yet. Tyres still have plenty of thread, brakes work fine. Shouldn't fail a WOF unless I'm blatantly blind in missing something important. I've been abit slack saving money trying to get the other hornet up and running so I can actually use it.
