It was at a sports grounds and those empty parks were not empty when she arrived, my sons game had just finished so lots left, Not a lot of parking in visible spots for bikes and a risk to park it down the back with so much happening in the car parks. My bike (in the background with my son on) was parked out the back until a vehicle moved so I could bring it forward...... a car was parked where hers is before too..

Not sure I get what you mean with that. If it is a nice colour it should still look good, right?

True for sure. But it depends on how much you want the object to stand out as the eye of the beholder will always rest on the biggest and brightest. Check out below. I really liked the plain steel tank but it was a dominating focal point. The onlooker should see the whole bike first THEN start noticing details. Mind you, no rules in customizing eh?

Oh look, we've found a GN for Katman

Thanks for posting those two pics. It's good to see the difference, but I actually like the plain steal tank more. But maybe just because it is something different.

Damg, bugger has been filming my dreams again.
If you have been looking at a dark red, then Burgundy and a fine gold pinstripe might be a go.

2 cents of opinion for ya

Failing that I have had good results from actual Auto paintshops.. you go in there, look through their catalogues of paints.. find a wicked color or make your own color up (ie black mixed with a gold fleck or something) - they will brew up the mix and then put it into a spray can for you (Colour Connection, Dunedin) and you can also buy little attachments that click onto the spraycan so you have a handle and a trigger so you can use it like a paint gun.. good for getting nice even smooth coats.. and less paint on your hands.
these custom filled rattle cans from Colour Connection are 30 buck a pop.. and thats for a base coat/clear coat.. so you have to buy a can of clear as well.. BUT they are massive cans, prob 1.5-2 times the size of ur repco or warehouse shite.. and its proper paint.
Thats real cool info thanks I got tank done chch in 80,s dude was amazing was with british bike shop there forget the name

Yeah there was 1 photo that just about made me settle on plain steel. The standard black is a long term temp but I kinda like it's style. Mind you, I'm thinking of putting chinese dragons with laser beams for eyes on the sides of my tank. That gives you some idea of my thoughts on the subject of style I guess.

Just to be a prat, that pic is a Japanese dragon as it only has 3 toes. Chinese have 4 or 5 if they are imperial dragons.
