    Oxford hotgrip problem

My hot grips which have been acting up have a new fault. Before they would change heat settings by themselfs. Now they are going to the max heat, while the girps are turned off.

    Anybody got a fix?

I had similar where they didnt turn off and flattened the battery and stranded me.

The fix was a new controller (it was faulty) and wiring through a relay.

The standard one with buttons and 4 heat settings.

Uh, that narrows it down to 3-4 different models.

Try to find a matching picture. One model with only two buttons (most are 3 buttons now) had a high incident of controller failures.

I hate the fuckin things, but alas the missus wanted some on the trumpy to keep her bits warm. went to take it for a WOF the other day and the battery was flat, happened to notice exactly what you describe, grips on full hot and no amout of button slapping changed anything.

The fix was quite simple, disconnect the wires from the battery, grab both ends really tight, and rip the fuckin things out and place in bin.

but hot grips are fantastic. THey would increase my riding season by a month in any given year. As you know I am made of sugar and tend to melt in the cold and rain.

Daytona hot grips, mine are 14 years old and have been fitted to three different bikes. They cost more though.
