    +1 to swoop.

But it'll take a serious incident (disaster, major road closure etc) and the subsequent review before anyone will think it's a problem.

What happens when an order is shipped incorrectly? Patients go without food until the next day?

This "front line" tag is mainly spin. What actually happens is all these "front line" people have to run around plugging all sorts of holes because the admin & process stuff isn't working. All these govt department privacy cock-ups are a good example, and this is just the stuff that's visible.

Supposing this scheme was in place a couple of years ago - where would the South Island hospitals be turning to if the Christchurch food factory was taken out by the earthquake?
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

It's been many years since I had the displeasure of eating (well...not in this case) hospital food.

They go on about 'feeding the sick'. If the sick can stomach the current crap served up, they can't be that sick, well not before consumption anyway.
I am all for the new system, ''some'' TV type dinners are not so bad.

Last night was a classic, everyone on nightshift just groaned when they saw the muffins for smoko: just as they always are the "blueberry" muffins were just bland stodge that tasted like flour and water. How can a professional cook, organisation not be able to make a simple muffin?

The food may well inspire people to get the hell out of hospital as quick as they possibly can, but from my experienc with Compass it definitely won't contribute to their recovery.
So what is the difference as the food now is lower than shit? but now it will cost less.

Yay!!! failure of the food hygene, poison, infection in one hospital kitchen and you can take hit half the NZ hospitale population out and increase the costs of fixing all those affected...but that would come out of ACC cos it would be accidental right? Crazy horse burger anyone ?
