Problem with the diaphragm on the carb of my GY6 50cc

Removed the cap from over the top of the diaphram and it had wrinkles in it.
When I removed it it like expanded and would no longer fit in the groove.
I had a simular brand new carb that says it was made in Japan I put it on and the scooter runs again but not as good as before.
I suspect I will have to replace the rubber manifold.
I have been running it on gull 98 octane most of the time and I suspect the gas has affected the rubber
    Anybody had these problems???
My scooter is 18 months old

If you can afford to waste money on Gull 98 in your scooter ... you can afford to get the diaphragm replaced.
And the diaphragm may have been only one issue with your scooter. You would be a little naive to believe it would sort all the issues the scooter has.
