    cats are awesome. He is providing for the colony. You have to make a fuss of him and tell him how clever he is, then disappear the present, and then tell him "Thank you very much it was delicious and I ate the whole thing"

    about once a week IME. more if the moon is full.

    Tha cat didn't give a Rats arse (pun intended) once it had climbed up out of the way, just lost interest, didn't even spark when we were trying to...plier it to death..

    Our cat sometimes brings in a live rat and lets it go. Gotta admit that they are pretty cunning buggers when you are trying to corner them. I used to use a big towel and just throw it over them and then bundle the rat and the towel up and then walk down the street and let them go (hate killing things).

    Now I just go into the room where the rat is, open the windows and shut the door. The rat can't believe its luck and just escapes out the window.

    Minimum effort=maximum result=perfect.
    I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

    ps:...I know how ya feel guys, we live across from two small water "reservoirs"...home to...water rats!...really...REALLY...BIG!!, water rats! (even my dog thinks twice before going them...and he's fuckin crazy!!...nuff said!...we live in fear!)
