    Barry Sheene costs?

Well i couldnt go last year and not sure on this year ether but beeing a week later it just may be possible.

What i want to get a handle on is options as of costs of entry, accomodation, travel, that sort of thing from anyone that has done it from the south island.

Is there any restrictions on lap times meaning you have to qualify in a certain time to race?.
I only ask this cos im not that fast lol.
    Im on a pre89 junior.

Any info would help as im going to have to start getting ready now to be organised with work if i can make it.

    Cheers

PM Marsheng, he travelled up from Christchurch with Van and bikes, he's going up again this year and might want someone to share costs

    I doubt you'd regret doing it,fantastic event

Entry is 200 dollars odd, plus a weekends worth of gas - I think we chewed through 80-100 bucks of fuel, food for the 3 days, we slept at the track in other peoples vans.. then transport for the bike there and back + flights if you use a bike transporter or ferry tickets.

We had a lot of help last year so will see how it goes this year! but we are going up again and our trailer should be big enough to fit a solo in with the sidecar if needed - would help us to share costs with someone else. Would have to finish the bloody trailer first though!

It was a very cool event, definitely wanting to go back this year.

...stayed at a hotel/motel at Mercer, about five minutes up the highway from HD...pretty cheap for three nights...a whole bunch from Invers went up...talk to those chaps about maybe getting your bike there with their lot?...flights are the cheapest bit...

hehe nah, but seriously payment will be easy for you as long as you squeal like a pig..

ok ok, fuel I'll have to calculate with a fully loaded trailer, without trailer it uses around 8litre per 100km, travel time I would probably be pushing it pretty hard - like drive there in one day, drive back in one day. provided nothing unexpected happens.
I think I would only want to split the gas really, wouldn't worry about putting in for ferry ticket for the car/trailer since I would have to pay that anyway. you'd sort your own ferry crossing if you drive with us or fly up which is prob comfier

I had calculated it earlier for the north island nats (can't remember the numbers) - it does end up being pretty expensive.. BikeTranz etc starts to look pretty attractive if only they could go a bit quicker

Dumb idea, done it a couple of times from Puke, you end up so tired and fucked you need an extra day off anyway
