Well two rides chalked up on 650B setup now. The performance matches the marketing hype, its a rocket on any sniff of a downhill.
Only initial takeoff is perhaps a little slower but everything else is FASTER and a lot faster.
On tight stuff feels just as good as 26.
Sorry no pics, too busy riding!

    I don't want to try 650b. It'll be like when I tried a pumper carbed DR650

As my race wheels were losing 10-15psi in a 45min ride, I put tubes in today and pumped them to the same pressures I normally run (25f/29r).
Went for a ride after dinner (pork chops & spuds).

    The bike felt dead.
    No liveliness at all.

The times however were well within the "going for a ride an hour and a half after a pork chop & spud dinner" range...

Only about 20s slower on a 37min section than yesterday.

The main thing is, they're still at the same pressure I started with...

What type of terrain? I run 35F/45R but most of my riding is pretty hard packed

Walking trail type hard pack up Nile St and the Maitai, short rockier sections by the golf course, gravel up the Tantragee, hard pack with pine needles and occasional roots down Codgers to Brook St.

I've never clunked a rim at 25f/29r. I'd like to go lower but I think 23 may be as low as I could safely go in the front and the rear gets a bit squishy and bouncy feeling closer to 25.

Although with the leaking, I was finishing off the rides with 18-20 in the front and rear without problems as long as I picked my lines to avoid the roots. Just as fast, but less fun.

Try letting some air out every few minutes on a ride. At some point, it will reach the magic pressure for the conditions/tyre/weight/speed and then measure the how much is in there.

Anyone here keen to have a sesh, mish up Bowenvale, and then go downhill mountainbiking? I have a very crappy MTB that goes down that hill mean (I'm a roadie, I just ride mountain bikes rarely for lulz). I ride/push it up the hill until I get to Victoria Park.

These tyres with tubes seem to like 21psi front and 26psi rear.

They roll well but the rear is not flash downhill under brakes...

I'm not flash downhill under brakes regardless of what tyre pressure I'm running

Took Vic out for a peadventure.
I rode the Stumpy and he rode the Blur.

Left at 8pm got back at 9:30...
    Without lights

Up Codgers, up the new track that links to Jacks, up to the Firball skid, around the back and up to the trig from there...
    OK. Won't do that again...

Gorse, steep, loose and a long way from the trig...
A lot of bike carrying and feet slipping later...

    Sounds familiar doesn't it

Went down Firball to the road, then back up to the skid and down IV Line (nicely cleaned up, but I'd want more light and a lower seatpost next time).

    Then took him down Gully...
    In the dark...

What you can't see can't hurt you. Well it can, really, but not tonight

    That was fun

In the last week I've done Bottle lake twice (17km laps) and Rapaki loop once (16km) getting some new bits for the bike this week as it's getting a bit worn out and rooted mainly due to my somewhat casual maintainence schedule, then I'll start doubling up on some of those laps

Problem at the moment is slow as I am the guys I've been riding with are even slower so it's a bit easy going, might have to do a few solo laps

My problem is I only ride solo and all the people I ride with are as slow as me...

Sunday's race is the second round of the national series.

    I'm feeling hopeful
