The shrouds or the pic...damn finicky mods whats the max image size again???

google the model name you will see. Shrouds deflect air off crude fan on generator through a cover that goes over head, seems surprisingly effective.

Rode to the Appleby Bridge and back this evening.
7 river crossings, from 20cm to 1m deep. After getting home and having a shower, my toes were still sore from the cold...

Riding riverbeds would be more fun on a fully though...

Went for a couple of rides this weekend. Mmmmmmm frozen puddles & slippery roots.
Took the girls up to the maitai caves. I googled it before hand & funnily enough one of the images was a brightly looking hardtail sitting in the river.

Just dragged out the thermals, off for a night ride at 7pm and it's looking rather cold

A doco on Steve Peat, free untill maybe this evening nz time.

Worth watching if you get the chance, he's just turned 40 and is still racing at the sharp end of the UCI Downhill World Cup.

    Has been perused.

Good stuff, except the zooming in and out in the b/w talking heads bits.

Just stick a dial gauge on the truing stand and had a play.
2min to get the wheel I built the other week to within .15mm lateral runout.
    Cool.
I prefer it to using the crappy indicators on the stand.
Now to find a roller tip for it.

Theoretically, if one were to consider converting a hard tail MTB to single speed, would a fixed or sprung tensioner be moar betterer?

I would suggest that other factors may be more important such as; the terrain one was to be riding, the age of ones knees & the continuing usage one expects to get out of ones knees

Saw a mate yesterday who had changed to a 1x10 setup. He used a extra wide chain, 30 front & had a bloody big rear cog. Interestingly he had a clutch type arrangement on the rear deralleiar that tensioned it. I think it was to stop the chain slap & dropping off.

I'm running a 1x10 with 32 front and 11-36 rear with a clutch mech (Shimano Zee) and RaceFace Narrow/Wide front chain ring to stop the chain coming off. Hasn't come off yet.

Would like a 40t rear sprocket added in there. Only about $100.
