Whats with the lapierre thing at the mo? We had a whole lot dumped here in Nelson for really cheap so everyone bought one. I havdn't heard about them before.

Step away from the milo, tooo much sugar...
Well done rebuilding something older but you can get some great gear secondhand at moment.
I have one of these http://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/cycl...-582840733.htm but diff colour, one spec level down on components and no DRCV shocks n forks. Mines about 3 years old now, done about 4000km of fun riding and crashing on it.
Next bike will be all mountain setup 150+mm travel or maybe downhill bike. Had hardtail and played on a mates carbon fibre one but full suspension is where its at for me.
The best thing to do is ride motorbike in morning then go for mountainbike ride afterwards
The trance sounds good, you can get some great deals on 26" second hand bikes with good spec for under $1000, everyone wants a 29er so the 26ers are cheap as chips, if you are doing alot of technical downhill trails the 26" will probabaly suit the purpose better anyway.
As one of the other guys mentioned try and get out night riding too, if that does"nt sharpen your reflexes I don't know what will, I almost hit a horse that was stood directly across a trail last night!
Two wheels good, four wheels bad.
Have a looksie on trademe at the mo barrie - there aren't many good bikes on there for cheap. There were a while ago. I thought the 29er thing was a fad but it seems the 27.5er is a fad inside a fad.
Each to their own I spose.
I reckon this is a very good buy - only biased cos I have 2 of them.

I may get out for a ride this weekend & get the bike covered in mud.
