Widdershins and Involution are, just, wow.

Wouldn't want to walk up Involution pushing a bike.

Wouldn't mind a couple of Thomson Elite 27.2 droppers.
But they cost more than my bikes.

Ouch. That small rock was just enough to throw his weight too far forward. Shows how easy major damage could happen on a easy bike ride aye.
Where was that? Scenery looked good.

Nah - that was me filmed by my 'mate'.... Just the dry creek loop in the Belmont hills above the Hutt Valley. There was a very nasty little wheel eating ditch just there and we were discussing the next obstacle 500m on never figuring that one was the real horror... It was pretty funny at the time... I should have gone at an angle 300mm either side of where I hit. 29'rs don't roll over everything eh....

Yeah, it's the potential OTB's that give me the most shits.

I've just got to get more confidence. Just pretend it's the DR and wheelie over that sort of thing.

Pulled the front Maxxis Ardent and put an Ikon on today.
Considerably lighter and was very noticeable on the climbs.
After the ride I hooked up rear and down tube splash guards to keep the drink bottles free of mud.

Should have done it before the ride really...

    Mmmm, mud.

I made a bad mistake this weeked, we did a 23.3 km loop up and around the Port Hills and for a small portion of it I rode my mates Specialized something or other full suspension 29 inch thingy and now I want one

I'm thinking my 14 year old Azonic hardtail will be getting replaced this year

Way to much weight on the front wheel, but you worked that out. Google how to Manual and learn that. Once you have Manuals down it all gets much easier.

Fitted High Roller II 2.4 on front, looks lot better than the original design which never worked for me on smaller sizes. Waiting for weather to clear to try out, very soft rubber on side blocks.

Yup - silly I know but I just looked at the ditch and thought where the heck did that come from and its way nastier then one would expect LOL...

When I first got that bike I was lifting the front around every uphill switchback so I put a longer stem on and dropped the bars. That solved that issue but I think I'm too far forward now. Bar height is good but need to bring them back in a bit...
